Our History

1949 Lincoln City Employees Credit Union received its charter.
1955 Journal Star Employees Credit Union receives its charter.
1964 Lancaster County Employees Credit Union received its charter.
1969 Saint Elizabeth Hospital Employees Federal Credit Union received its charter.
1975 Lincoln City Employees Credit Union merges with Lancaster County Employees Credit Union to form City County Employees Credit Union.
1978 Saint Elizabeth Hospital Employees Federal Credit Union expanded its membership to include Bryan Hospital and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. The name was changed to Health Care Federal Credit Union.
1997 Lincoln General Hospital (eligible for City County ECU membership) merges with Bryan Hospital (eligible for Health Care FCU membership) creating an overlap in membership eligibility between the two credit unions.
1998 City County Employees Credit Union merges with Health Care Federal Credit Union to form 1st Choice Credit Union.
2002 Journal Star Employees Credit Union merges with 1st Choice Credit Union.
2007 1st Choice Credit Union receives regulatory approval to change its name to Peoples Choice Federal Credit Union.
